Emotional intelligence is the path to liberation.
I am a professional screenwriter, playwright, and theatrical director from Santanyi, Mallorca. In addition to earning a Bachelors Degree in Literary Interpretation, I completed two years of medical school and have worked in the field of mental health. I am particularly interested in the new psychology of emotional and social intelligence. I believe theater is revolutionary because it speaks directly to the emotions, and that theater is therefore a catalyst of personal and societal liberation.
My two-act play, The War of Images, was released on May 16, 2011. It was performed in Madrid on the first anniversary of the Indignados (Occupy Spain, #15M) uprising as my gift to the movement. The play is about the primacy of feelings as drivers of human action. The setting is here and now, but the characters are mostly Greek and Roman gods and goddesses with a handful of immortalized mortals. There is even a Chorus to provide a flow of emotional energy between the audience and what’s going on on stage.
On December 21, 2012, the day the Mayan calendar came to an end, I launched the Mars Monologue project. My goal is to present this 1:45 dramatic reading by as diverse an assortment of people as possible in as many languages as possible. You can track our progress by Liking our Facebook project page.
